On July 29, TAAMS held a public information session at a community café to increase awareness about the upcoming Constitutional Elections on October 23.
The meeting was held in the neighborhood of Hédi Nouira, Borj Louzir, Ariana. The purpose of the meeting was to give practical information about the election process beginning with why the elections matter and including registration regulations, election day procedures, the role of monitors, and how seats would be allocated based on vote counts.
The participants posed questions and engaged in an active discussion about the elections. The two hour meeting succeeded in convincing several people to register to vote who had not yet done so and several others to express interest in participating in our democracy and citizenship project.
