History

The foundation of the association (formerly named Tunisian Association for Management and Social Stability)  in 1995 corresponds to the eventual departure of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) which, at the request of both Tunisian and American businessmen, had agreed to finance the launch of a development association which mission was to promote professional business relations between Tunisia and the USA. TAMSS had been playing this role for five years through training services, technical assistance and know-how transfer from American expertise.

It was in 2006 that TAMSS reinstated its status but, this time, with a new social mission that will focus on communitydevelopment activities. The driving force behind these shift and choice lies in two facts:

Ø  Driven by her personal convictions, the founder of TAMSS, who strongly believes in values like sharing and equal opportunities when it comes to women entrepreneurship, chose to invest her money to give new impetus to the association.

Ø  Worldwide successful experiences in the areas of life skills development, entrepreneurship and micro-enterprise to leverage development and fight poverty have spurred and inspired TAMSS’ management.

Hence, the “new” association chooses Borj-Louzir in the Capital of Tunisia, an area facing difficulties and socio-economic problems, to set up its headquarter and undertake socio-economic actions. In 2011 two  additional offices were opened in the Center of Tunisia, Sidi Bouzid, and in Gafsa in the  South of the country.
